Patients Seen
This facility evaluates and treats patients for oral and maxillofacial surgery problems, which may require hospitalization. This includes patients with:
- dentofacial deformities (abnormally shaped jaws or faces)
- oral pathological problems (cysts or tumors of the jaws and associated areas including cancer)
- evaluation and repair of nerve injuries around the face
- temporomandibular joint disorders
- facial injuries
Occasionally, self-referred patients will be seen. This facility offers a full-range of laser surgical treatment on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. If hospital admission is required, patients are normally admitted to UCSF Moffitt/Long Hospital but can also be admitted to UCSF/Mt. Zion Hospital and for eligible patients, admission to San Francisco General Hospital can be arranged.
This facility has state of the art computer analysis of dentofacial deformity cases. With the facilities of the Moffitt/Long Medical Hospitals, all tests and investigations can be carried out promptly on site.
Insurance
We accept both medical and dental insurance and have contracts with the majority of managed care medical and dental insurance plans in the San Francisco Bay Area. An authorization may be required from your primary care provider and co-payment and deductibles may be applicable and it is the patient's responsibility to bring the necessary authorization.
