Clinic : Referring Doctors
To Potential Referring Practitioners:
We are pleased to accept referrals from dentists and physicians for our services. Please note that dental alveolar and implant related referrals should be sent to our clinic on the first floor of the Dental Clinics Building (Room D-1201, phone number 415-476-1316). Most billing in this clinic is dental in nature.
Consultations regarding conditions that may require hospitalization (trauma, temporomandibular joint conditions, orthognathic and craniofacial conditions, pathology and oral cancer, nerve involvement, and facial pain issues) should be referred to our hospital based clinic in Room S-738 of the Medical Sciences Building (phone 415-476-3242). Most treatment in this clinic is considered medical in nature, and will be billed to the patient's medical insurance, as appropriate. It is helpful if a referral letter and any relevant laboratory or imaging studies are available, and it is often easiest if these are hand carried to our clinic by the patient at their first consultation appointment. Once the patient has been seen, you should receive a copy of the consultation report within seven days.
