HOSPITAL DENTISTRY POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR FACULTY APPOINTMENT

University of California, San Francisco Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – Hospital Dentistry Position Description for Faculty Appointment

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco is searching for a full-time faculty position in the Hospital Dentistry and GPR program. The appointment will be in the Clinical Series at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level, as appropriate. The selected person will have a predominantly clinical and teaching role and will be encouraged to undertake clinical research. The applicant will work in the Hospital Dentistry Program, which is within the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and also houses the one-year General Practice Residency, which has four residents per year. It is anticipated that the appointee will be offered the position of Associate Director of the General Practice Residency. Teaching will be at both the predoctoral and postdoctoral level and will be based at the Parnassus Campus.

The person selected must have completed an ADA-accredited training program or its equivalent and have completed a General Practice Residency/Advanced Education in General Dentistry or its equivalent. The person selected must be eligible for licensure or special dental permit in the state of California. Salary range will be commensurate with the level of appointment. The position is open from July 1, 2008 and will remain open until filled.
